Position Summary
We are seeking a Regional Applications Engineer to join our team and support customers throughout WI, MN, ND, SD, NE, IA, and MI Upper Peninsula. This role focuses on providing installation support, technical training, and applications consulting for TRUMPF laser cutting, punching, bending, combination, and welding equipment. The Applications Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring customers unlock the full capabilities of their machines and optimize their manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver expert-level applications support, including troubleshooting and optimizing machine performance.
Train customers on machine usage, software, and best practices tailored to their production needs.
Communicate machine capabilities clearly and effectively to customers at all organizational levels.
Analyze customer workflows and recommend process improvements or machine parameter adjustments.
Collaborate with Maintecx Sales and Service Engineers, and coordinate with TRUMPF’s Applications group to align on customer needs and priorities.
Travel to customer sites for installations, training, process reviews, and applications support.
Submit timely and well-documented service and applications reports according to company standards.
Maintain strict adherence to safety protocols, including customer-specific requirements.
Participate in ongoing technical training to stay current with new TRUMPF technologies and product updates.
Qualifications
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-first mindset.
Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of working both independently and collaboratively.
Experience with CAD/drafting or modeling software and a solid understanding of manufacturing processes.
Hands-on experience in CNC machinery or industrial applications preferred.
Prior knowledge of TRUMPF products is a plus.
Willingness to travel frequently, including periodic overnight stays and travel by air or vehicle.
Valid driver’s license required.
