About Maintecx
Maintecx Machine Tool LLC is a Minneapolis-based sales and service company supporting the Midwest and South with premium fabrication and manufacturing equipment. As a certified TRUMPF service partner, we provide expert installation, repair, and support for laser cutting, punching, bending, combination, and welding machines. Our local team of highly skilled Field Service Engineers is known for its fast response times, factory training, and strong customer relationships. With a focus on technical excellence and trust, we deliver first-class service that keeps our customers running at full capacity.
The Role
We are looking for a Regional Applications Engineer based in Alabama to support a strong, localized customer base running TRUMPF fabrication equipment. This role is hands-on and technical, focused on applications support, customer training, and process optimization for laser cutting, punching, bending, combination, and welding systems. Travel is primarily regional, not national, allowing for deeper customer relationships, better scheduling flexibility, and a sustainable workload. The position includes a company-provided vehicle and full support from Maintecx and TRUMPF teams, making it an ideal opportunity for an Applications Engineer who wants technical ownership, real customer impact, and the backing of a growing organization.
What You’ll Do
Deliver expert-level applications support, including troubleshooting and optimizing machine performance.
Train customers on machine usage, software, and best practices tailored to their production needs.
Communicate machine capabilities clearly and effectively to customers at all organizational levels.
Analyze customer workflows and recommend process improvements or machine parameter adjustments.
Collaborate with Maintecx Sales and Service Engineers, and coordinate with TRUMPF’s Applications group to align on customer needs and priorities.
Travel to customer sites for installations, training, process reviews, and applications support.
Submit timely and well-documented service and applications reports according to company standards.
Maintain strict adherence to safety protocols, including customer-specific requirements.
Participate in ongoing technical training to stay current with new TRUMPF technologies and product updates.
What We’re Looking For
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-first mindset.
Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of working both independently and collaboratively.
Experience with CAD/drafting or modeling software and a solid understanding of manufacturing processes.
Hands-on experience in CNC machinery or industrial applications preferred.
Prior knowledge of TRUMPF products is a plus.
Willingness to travel frequently, including periodic overnight stays and travel by air or vehicle.
Valid driver’s license required.
What We Offer
Competitive pay based on experience and technical skill.
Employer-paid health insurance.
401(k) with profit sharing.
Paid training and full reimbursement for travel-related expenses.
Per diem provided during overnight travel.
Generous PTO, including vacation days and paid holidays.
Company-provided vehicle, laptop, cell phone, and tools.
A modern, high-tech work environment with continuous learning.
A workplace built on mutual trust, technical pride, and team support.
